Augusta Airports
Augusta is served by two airports, Augusta Regional and Daniel Field.
Augusta Regional Airport at Bush Field is part of the Augusta Airport System and the only airport in the Central Savannah River Area that serves both commercial and civil aviation flights. Daniel Field, provides services to general aviation aircraft.
Today, the 1,500-acre Augusta Regional Airport boasts an 8,000-foot primary all-weather runway, a 6,000-foot crosswind runway, an air traffic control tower, a facilities maintenance office, fixed base operator, terminal and plenty of parking.
A new state-of-the-art terminal recently replaced the quaint "Country Club" Terminal which had served Augusta for more than 50 years.
Augusta is served by three airlines. Delta Connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines offers nine flights a day to Atlanta; US Airways Express provides six flights to Charlotte daily; and American Eagles offers two flights a day to Dallas/Ft. Worth.
Augusta Regional Airport is about six miles from downtown Augusta on Ga. Hwy. 56 Spur (Doug Bernard Parkway), four miles south of Interstate 520 East (Bobby Jones Expressway). From I-20, take Exit 196a to I-520 East.
Daniel Field, about four minutes away from Augusta National, has two asphalt runways with parallel taxiways. Both runways are equipped with runway lights. The airport has a rotating beacon, lighted wind indicator, and automated weather reporting facilities (ASOS). The airport has non-precision instrument approaches using VOR, NDB, and ASR facilities.
The Daniel Field terminal area has bathrooms, telephones, flight planning area, pilots lounge, and conference room. A restaurant is located on the airport with its own aircraft parking apron.
Augusta Aviation Inc. is the fixed base operator (FBO) at Daniel Field. Augusta Aviation provides fuel sales, aircraft repair, hangar rental, tie down area, flight instruction, aircraft rental, and charter service.
